The first month of 2025 has passed! How’s the new year going on for you? For me it’s quite an eventful start – mostly with work, Chinese New Year family gathering, and preparation for Cocoma, our first artist alley event of the year to be held in the beginning of February. Thankfully I get to do some productive things and hopefully can keep it up for the rest of the year!
Daily Doodle Challenge
So I tried to do a daily doodle challenge for myself this month! Basically I draw something that represents each day of that month. It’s a personal project I’ve always wanted to try and I’m not sure if I can keep up to the rest of the year, but it’s an interesting challenge to test to try out.
The things I draw quite vary like some food I enjoyed that day, something memorable from a game I’m playing, or about media I enjoyed like game or something I watched, random things I did at work or with family and friends, and so on. It may seem pretty random but it’s a personal project after all, the doodles have their own meaning to me, heheh.

The basic premise is that I feel I’m getting more forgetful and I want to be more aware of memorable things I do each day. Like I often feel like ‘what did I do yesterday? Did I even do anything useful today? How come weeks passed away so fast?’ so I wanted to take time to find something memorable for each day, even small things.
The challenge is that sometimes there are days that just felt too mundane or eventful yet hard to represent in a drawing, or some days are too hectic I forgot about it then days passed and I forgot what happened that day. But I’m glad at least I can finish a month of it and it’s pretty satisfying to look at once it’s done. Let’s see how it goes next month!
New Merch for Cocoma

So for the first event of the year, it was quite a short distance from the last big event I did which was Comifuro, and came Christmas break which I went on a trip so I didn’t have much time to work on new things. I was skeptical I can do it but I’m glad I managed to squeeze in to draw some new designs on January!
I finally made my own calendar merch! I’ve always wanted to make one but didn’t get the right timing to make it. The ideal one is a monthly calendar with different art on each month, but I’m happy I get to make this version too. I also made the Bangboo designs into stickers and acrylic pins too, since I feel they fit those merch types as well individually.

I also added two new Nikke sticker designs – Rapi Red Hood and Red Hood herself. This one is quite spontaneous because I enjoyed the new story with Rapi Red Hood so much, I just got inspired to draw them!
I also get to draw Nicole from ZZZ and I couldn’t make up my mind to draw her new outfit or her classic one, since she’s my favorite character in the game and I haven’t get to draw her.
In the end I tried making a lenticular card print with it where Nicole will change outfit when you tilt the card left and right! It’s a pretty cool effect and this may be something I might try out more in the future!
Art Streams and other art!
I also get to draw some other art in this month! I tried to make more Hoyoverse games fanart content of characters I like and do more art streams this year. I’m trying to work on my drawing speed and consistency again this year and hopefully can make more artwork on the next months too!

I want to try doing more art streams this year and I get to do the Miyabi art as part of an art stream I did this month. Another art stream I did was a Fakemon collab which I talked about more in this post here, which was a lot of fun and I haven’t been doing art collab streams for awhile!
