Time flies and the year is coming to an end! I get quite melancholic at the end of the year, thinking of stuff that have happened and what things I have accomplished in this year – so I made it a point to myself to try to always do an art summary each year. I do feel I don’t get to be as productive drawing this year, but I’m glad at least I get to draw something each month!
Here’s my art summary with me picking one art for each month of 2025! You can get the template on my Ko-fi or VGen shop too!
2025 art has been mostly a mix of fandoms – Nikke, ZZZ, HSR, Clair Obscur, Kimetsu no Yaiba, KPop Demon Hunters, with mix of original art here and some other fandoms!
This year the one thing I tried to do differently is I tried to experiment more with lineart colors. While it may not be noticeable as much, I find it helpful to make the colors seem to pop out more in certain cases? I still use single color lineart for faster work though, since making multicolor lines take longer for me as I still struggle with it. I tried different background styles too like playing around with shapes and patterns without making it too detailed work.
Besides art of each month, I also decided to make a booth recap of the year! This year I joined a total of 6 local conventions! Here’s a summary of the booth pics! I also get to experiment with my display methods, hopefully next year I get to renew my merch lineup and make some space for more organized display and new merch! I’m planning on retiring some older merch or completing set to existing character merch I made.
For the new year, I’m planning to hopefully be able to reprioritize some of the things I want to do. I’m thinking to reduce the number of artist alley booths to attend so I don’t get too overwhelmed by merch supply timeline and feel pressured to add new merch ‘just because’ for a new event.
I do still want to add new merch and more on original work to introduce my characters more out there, and also to go back bit more to streaming and commission. With work and new things in my life, I hope I’ll be able to figure things out better in the next year.
